HEL brake master cylinders are precision machined from race grade solid billet 6082-T6 aluminium - maximising weight and minimising material used. The lever utilises variable position plugs. Using the plug with the offset hole nearest the master cylinder gives you a -1 ratio. If you rotate the plug 180 degrees it offers you a +1 ratio and if you use the plug with a central hole you obtain a 1:1 ratio.

This means that with a 16mm master cylinder you can obtain a 15/16, 16/16 and 17/16 from one lever and two inserts. HEL lever blades are CNC machined from billet 6082-T6 aluminium and have a cleverly designed slot machined out of the end of the blade to improve aerodynamic performance. This slot allows air to flow directly through the the lever blade, eliminating braking force being applied by air pressure at high speeds. World Class Research & Development.
